Hillombo's Services
Facilitation
I begin by understanding the goals of the process and co-creating an agenda that will achieve those outcomes, ensuring a balance of activities. Once in the room, I rely on dialogue and problem posing and asking questions when I sense I or others don't fully understand where the group is going.
Strategic Planning
Whether developing strategies in a one day convening, or a 3-6 month engagement, my approach is to make connections between the specific issues that are presented and larger themes of class struggle and self-determination, and present questions back to the group to work through.
Evaluation
I assist organizations in reflecting on the work that they have done to date in relation to what they were trying to accomplish, but also in terms of what implications there are in unstated goals or goals that may have been unaddressed.
Training
Workshops include: anti-racism as necessarily being anti-capitalist, the 501-(c) (3) system as a neo-colonial system, arts and culture in the upholding of racial capitalism and applying the work of Paulo Freire in evaluation.
